A day to begin.

The proposed one-day camp brings skateboarding and collaborative art into a shared space. It aims to expand access for young people from Festac, Satellite Town, Ojo and Agboju, alongside participants travelling from Kaduna.

  • Beginner skate clinics with safety gear
  • Custom decks signed by Dozyé
  • A temporary modular skate setup for different skill levels
  • Live collaborative painting
  • An art auction intended to reinvest in the programme

Beyond one afternoon.

The proposal includes 12 months of follow-up, monthly check-ins and monitoring of school attendance and academic progress. Its intention is to create ongoing access and encouragement beyond the camp itself.

Planned resources include skateboards, safety equipment, ramps, art materials, participant travel, staffing and follow-up support.

The people behind it.

Dozyé’s Abstract Studio leads the creative direction, art and auctions. The proposal assigns instruction and safeguarding to Brotherly Skateboards and Guiding Way Skate Shop, with Kamba International supporting Lagos production and logistics.

These are the camp’s proposed collaborators; they are separate from the production of the PALIMPSEST salon.

Art as an opening.

Dozyé’s wider studio practice connects visual art with music, fashion, community and skate culture. The camp extends that approach into a space for young people to learn, make and participate.
